Northern Territory pastoralist Viv Oldfield has purchased historic Pandie Pandie station outside of Birdsville, for $7.5 million.

According to the Australian Financial Review, the property has been in the hands of the Morton family for 70 years.

The 660,000-hectare property is one of several being offloaded by the family, AFR reports.

The property carries more than 7800 adult cattle with permanent and semi-permanent water holes.
