THE 2014 Queensland bull selling season hit a new high of $45,000 on Thursday.
Yarrawonga Drover J586 (P) was the top-priced bull at the 55th annual on-property Yarrawonga Waco bull sale at Wallumbilla.
The Bassingthwaighte family sold 125 Santa Gertrudis bulls, with the sale averaging $7384, and a clearance of 93 per cent.
Yulgilbar Station general manager Rob Sinnamon, Baryulgil via Grafton, NSW, bought 21-month-old Yarrawonga Drover J586 (P) who weighed in at 858kg, had an average daily weight gain of 1.29kg/day and is the son of Waco F268 (P).
There was strong competition throughout the event with bulls selling for in excess of $20,000 in the latter half of the sale.
