JUST over 350 head of cattle was run through the Gympie Saleyards on Saturday during the Fortrus stud's Angle Zed herd dispersal.
Ken and Julie Thompson, True Blue, Childers, took home the top price cow and calf, paying $7500 for Fortrus 11/001.
Sired by Billabong Romea and out of Billabong Palometta, Ken said the cow was the best in the yarding and was pleased to take out the winning bid.
"She's a lovely cow and we'll keep the bull calf and see what he's like once he's grown a bit more," Mr Thompson said.
"We might look at selling him at the National Sale in Rockhampton next year."
The top price bull Fortrus Captain also came in at $7500.
