THE Landmark Beef stud competition kicked off today, with hundreds of cattle descending on centre ring as part of Beef 2015.
Brahmans had the largest showing, with 219 head exhibited and judged by David Bondfield, Palgrove, Dalveen.
Grand champion Brahman female was awarded to Crimum Miss Red Ruby, exhibited with a cracking bull calf at foot, by the Randell familly Crimum Brahman Stud, Middlemount.
While grand champion Brahman bull was Raglan Victory, exhibited by the Olive family, Raglan Station, Raglan.
Mr Bondfield stayed true to his selection criteria placing emphasis on the commercial aspects of the seedstock victory.
Breeding six out of six championships, from champion female calf to senior champion bull, gave Boonah's Kenneth and Tanya Falkenhagen plenty to smile about at the conclusion of the Australian Lowline judging.
Junior champion bull Tanview Jaguar, sold recently to Susan Smith, Vern Park, Coominya, was sashed the grand champion bull, while Tanview Jewel, the Falkenhagen's junior champion female, collected the grand champion female ribbon.
Judge Steve Pocock, AACo Darwin, said the champions were great examples of the Lowline breed.
In the Hereford and Poll Hereford ring, Tom and Sophie Holt, Tondara Hereford Stud, Urana, NSW, followed up their recent successes at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and Royal Melbourne Show by taking home the grand champion bull, female and supreme exhibit titles.
Two-year-old bull Tondara Clines Vendetta J303 (AI) was awarded grand champion bull. Kanimbla Miss K H100 (P), exhibited with her heifer calf Tondara Miss K at foot, won the grand champion female title and went on to be named supreme Hereford exhibit.
