OAKWOOD Red Tearz was crowned supreme Limousin exhibit at this year’s Toowoomba Royal Show.
The outstanding apricot cow and her heifer calf was earlier nominated as the grand champion female of the Limousin feature show by judge Alastair Rayner, RaynerAg, Tamworth, New South Wales.
She dominated the senior class and was described by Mr Rayner as having the optimum balance of reproductive traits.
Her main opponent for the top accolade came in the form of the 15-month-old junior and grand champion bull, The Downfall GMV Stetson Junior, exhibited by Peter and Pauline Grant, The Downfall Limousin stud, Stanthorpe.
A total of 39 head were paraded; according to RASQ beef cattle committee chairman, Cameron Collins, this was similar to other feature breeds over recent years.
The large breed interbreed judging will take place at 2pm on Saturday.
