A FRASERS Livestock Transport driver is in the Townsville Hospital, following a B-Triple road train roll-over on Monday night.
Emergency crews received a call from a fellow truck driver who attended the scene on the Gregory Development Road, situated 180 kilometres south of Charters Towers.
The road train was believed to be travelling south when the accident occurred near Plain Creek Station, just north of the Belyando Crossing, at about 6.50pm last night.
A spokesperson from the Charters Towers Police said some of the Brahman-cross steers, which were heading to southern markets, were either killed in the roll-over, or euthanised at the scene.
Nearby neighbours assisted with releasing the unharmed cattle from the over-turned truck, and were mustered into a holding point, but are yet be collected by a back-up Frasers Transport road train.
A spokesperson for Frasers Transport was unavailable for comment.
The driver was airlifted by helicopter from the scene.
