AUSTRALIAN sporting royalty Craig Lowndes and Adam Gilchrist will take centre stage at the Suncorp Bank Sportsman's Lunch, as part of Beef Australia 2015.
The ticketed event on Friday, May 8, will allow the legendary duo to take their guests on a journey through their combined 40-year sporting history at the Boucher Bistro, Sidney Kidman Indoor Pavilion.
With tickets on sale from this week, Suncorp Bank regional manager for north Queensland Troy Constance says he predicts this year's Sportsman's Lunch to be a highlight on the Beef Australia social calendar.
"As a major supporting partner of Beef Australia 2015, Suncorp Bank is thrilled to host the Sportsman's Lunch, and have two iconic Australian sports stars attend as guest speakers," he said.
"It isn't every day you get two premier sporting greats, like Craig Lowndes and Adam Gilchrist, in the same room."
The Sportsman's Lunch is just one of the many Suncorp Bank-hosted events at this year's Beef Australia.
The Suncorp Bank Next Generation Forum is another premier event on the Beef Australia calendar.
The forum is open to beef enthusiasts from the ages of 18 to 35, and is also set for May 8.
"It will focus on the key issues facing the next generation of emerging beef producers, and will provide an insight into how to manage the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities.
"Agriculture is a fundamental part of Queensland's heritage, and continues to be an integral part of its future."
Mr Constance said the event aimed to deliver new, innovative and fresh approaches to starting out in the beef industry or progressing with existing operations.
Speakers include Goulburn-based federal MP Angus Taylor and a panel of speakers facilitated by Alice Greenup, Greenup Santa Gertrudis, Kumbia.
The third Suncorp Bank seminar will shine a light on one of the most important, yet often overlooked issues facing many farming families - succession planning - to be held on May 7.
"Well-regarded planning specialist Isobel Knight, together with international trade and investment specialist Brendan Goulding, will provide practical advice and guidance on how to navigate through the process of succession planning."
