THE senate inquiry into the effect of market consolidation on the red meat processing sector has been pushed back by seven months.
The report had been due by August 12, 2015, but the Senate granted an extension to the last sitting day in March next year.
Although submissions closed on June 30, the Cattle Council and AgForce have been granted an extension until the end of this month.
CCA said it was conscious that many producers have been reluctant to speak out about unfair behaviour for fear of jeopardising commercial relationships.
It said producers can take advantage of an online facility on its website, which CCA will use as anecdotal and anonymous evidence to strengthen its submission.
Public hearings will be held in Roma, August 4; Canberra, August 27; and Albury-Wodonga, NSW, September 2.
There are currently 68 submissions.
