RURAL Doctors Association Queensland welcomed close to 300 delegates from across the state to the 2014 RDAQ conference in Brisbane today.
Celebrating 25 years, president Sue Masel welcomed delegates, sponsors, partners and their families to the three day event held at Sofitel Brisbane Central.
“I especially wish to welcome those delegates who have joined us for the first time,” Dr Masel said.
“It is wonderful that so many delegates are returning to enjoy the most important event in RDAQ’s annual calendar.”
The program will cover industry technology, social media, and interactive sessions to extend participants’ education.
Focusing also on rural maternity, a forum will be held tomorrow with representatives from the ‘hotspots’ of rural maternity and rebirthing discussing maintenance of safe, low risk birthing in rural areas and future initiatives.
Information from forums throughout the event will then be collated for participants to take home and apply and encourage sustainability of birthing services in rural communities.
