Shannon Storey was born in Emerald, started her schooling there, then later moved to Capella where she finished year 12.
She has completed a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and Certificate I and II in Rural Operations. Shannon is a qualified chef and now works at Dooley's Tavern. She has also returned to studying and is part way through completing a dual Diploma in Business Management and Agriculture. Shannon hopes to one day own and run her own cafe. She enjoys riding her horses, polocrosse, local rugby and spending time with her family and friends
Q: What inspires you?
A: The younger generation, I want to show them and teach them to strive and that even from a small town it doesn't have to hold you back you can still achieve many and great things if you give it 100 per cent.
Q: What do you see yourself doing in five years?
A: In five years I would love to see myself either running a cattle station or I would love to have my own cafe or even better would love to achieve both.
Q: What's your main rule in life?
A: "If you're not sure which way to go or what path to choose, do both and see which way or path works for you."
Q:What are you looking forward to the most during the Showgirl Awards State Final at the Ekka?
A: The thing I'm looking forward to the most about the Ekka is to see how such a big show works.
