CLONCURRY Shire Council will upgrade its saleyards in November.
Acting Mayor Jane McMillan said council would construct and seal access roads as well as create a dedicated heavy-vehicle set down and coupling area.
Further works to improve the saleyards including landscaping and water infrastructure upgrades would be completed in the next 12 months, she said.
"Mining is strong with the likes of Altona Little Eva and MMG Dugald River, beef industry prices are the best in years and there is significant interest in industrial land for mid-to-large scale operations," Cr McMillan said.
"This snapshot paints just a small picture of the activity in the shire; Cloncurry is open for business.
"Council's focus remains on infrastructure asset renewal and essential service delivery to meet the need of our ever-growing and developing community."
