Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) has nabbed one of its own in an alleged cattle stealing racket in central-west Queensland.
Officers from the state's Stock and Rural Crime Investigation Squad (SARCIS) allege the offences were committed in Idalia National Park, west of Blackall.
Two people have been charged with livestock stealing and fraud offences after investigators excecuted a search warrant at Idalia National Park in response to a tip-off from the QPWS.
A search warrant was also executed on two properties in the Blackall area. A number of cattle were seized by SARCIS officers and investigations are continuing.
A 50-year-old woman, a ranger of the park and a 72-year-old man have been issued a notice to appear relating to fraud and other stock related offences. They will appear in the Blackall Magistrates Court on May 26.
SARCIS investigators are working closely with QPWS on the investigation following the referral.
Investigators are not able to comment further as the matters are now before the court.
